Violet Auroma Wilson Durham Lytle, age 92, passed away of natural causes on June 16, 2023. That day Violet went to meet her Lord and Savior in heaven. She was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado, on Aug. 6, 1930, to George William Wilson and Grace Viola Staley. Two of her children, Rose Mary Durham Fourmont (Rick) and Gale William Durham were beside her at her home in Port Hadlock, Washington as she passed.

Violet was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Earl Durham; husband Hugh Lester Lytle; her mother and her father. Surviving are her three children, Lucy Juanette Durham Walter (Roger) of Babb, Montana, Rose Mary, and Gale; grandchildren Velissa Rae Dawn Walter Thomas (Rob), Dustin Robert Walter (Shelly), Rebecca Matilda Sara-Staatz (Sunny); step-grandchildren Shane Jacob Fourmont and Travis Elliot Fourmont (Abby); and granddaughter Jennifer Nicole Durham. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Former Port Townsend residents, Violet and her husband Hugh were furniture store proprietors of the Bishop Building and the old Safeway building, now Flagship Landing, in the late 1960s and early '70s. Violet was known for her loving, cheerful spirit, creative and artistic abilities and her kindness to all. Regretfully, due to family constraints and illness, no public service will be planned.
