Doris Merrill, of Poulsbo, Washington, passed away on Feb. 5, 2023 at age 80.
She is survived by her brother, Ed Merrill and sister-in-law Cheryl Merrill of Port Townsend, Wash.; and nephews Matthew Merrill and Sean Harper of San Diego, California. Her family is grateful to Martha & Mary Health and Rehab Center for providing exceptional care to Doris for 14 years.
Doris was born in Mansfield, Louisiana, in 1942. At the age of 4, she moved with her family to Oregon. She lived in Ashland, Eugene, and Florence for several years before moving to Aberdeen, Wash. at age 14. In 1983, Doris moved to Port Townsend where she lived until 2009 before moving to Martha & Mary in Poulsbo.
Doris loved to travel. She visited Hawaii, Costa Rica, Australia, Scotland, Alaska, the Calgary Stampede, Disneyland, Disney World, and Nashville. She also loved to paint, originally learning her craft at Gathering Place in Port Townsend.
Kind, caring, and special in so many ways, she will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
