Into the Light: Explorations with Linda Okazaki and Lisa Fortlouis Wood, Ph.D.

Posted by BIArtMuseum

Linda Okazaki (featured retrospective artist, Port Townsend) and Dr. Wood (Clinical Psychologist and Professor Emeritus, University of Puget Sound, Tacoma) have known each other since the 1980s. Recently, they embarked on a journey to explore Okazaki’s life work, which she describes as “incomplete sentences.” This collaboration has yielded fresh insights that shed light on the complexity of Okazaki’s paintings.

Join in the conversation and reflection on the artist’s personal experiences, her use of color in relation to emotions, her incorporation of dream imagery, and her exploration of the unconscious mind—from early childhood to recent discoveries, all viewed in a new light. The discussion will be moderated by Greg Robinson, Chief Curator, and will be followed by a reception.
