Edna Yvonne Schenk, nee Hofstrand, passed peacefully the evening of Sept. 20, 2021 at The Arbor care home in Bremerton, Washington in the arms of Glen, her best friend, and husband of 48 years. She is survived by her husband, four children, two stepchildren, 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her beloved son Gary and grandson Graham.
Edna has lived the last 43 years in Port Hadlock and Port Ludlow where her husband and she built their home, business, and found community. She was a founding member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and was an active member until dementia invaded her life. She was an artist, homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother.
The funeral service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 45 Redeemer Way, Chimacum, Washington at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, with graveside service to follow. For people who cannot attend in person, it will be live-streamed at facebook.com/redeemerway.
