Charles Alfred Nelson Jr. was born to Charles A. Nelson and Alice (Eldridge) Nelson on July 20, 1946, in Port Townsend, Washington. Charles died “peacefully” at home on June 22, 2022, in Henderson, Nevada.

Charles grew up in Jefferson County and graduated from Chimacum High School, Class of 1964. He was inducted in the Army on July 12, 1966, through April 15, 1968, and served in the Vietnam War.

Charles is finally reunited with the love of his life, his beloved wife of 24 years, Judy Nelson, who died in 2017 and he has spent the last few years talking about how much he was looking forward to seeing her in heaven. They both enjoyed golf, traveling, and cooking for anyone who would stop by for gourmet meals! Charles and Judy resided in Southern California for many years prior to Judy’s death.

Charles passed in his home in Henderson, Nevada under the care of Affectionate Hospice Care and with his family by his side until the end.

Charles is survived by his brother, Dean Nelson; his spouse, Sandi Nelson of Port Ludlow, Wash.; and their sister, Claudia Watts, and her spouse Jerry Watts of Henderson, Nevada.

“We bid goodbye to one so loved and never to be forgotten.”
