Geared toward absolute beginners, but informative and fun for anyone, the goal of this workshop is to explore the human form and take the fear out of this most challenging subject!
Students will learn about figure drawing using pencils and charcoal, and expand on this approach by creating a painting (or two!) using Acrylic paints. Julie Read will cover a variety of topics pertaining to drawing and painting that will apply to any subject matter, and though she will be focusing on realism, she encourages her students to explore their impulses and find their own unique style.
You will leave the workshop with finished pieces and the confidence to acquire your own set of drawing and painting materials for a home practice.
