Upcoming COVID-19 clinics to offer free vaccinations to children

Posted

Jefferson County Public Health will host clinics in Quilcene over the next three months for families with children 6 months and older who are seeking COVID-19 vaccinations.

The clinics will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 30; Saturday, Sept. 10; and Saturday, Oct. 22.

The Quilcene clinic address is 294843 US Highway 101. It is in the same building as the U.S. Post Office, but on the backside of the building, which faces Rodgers Street.

Residents can call 360-385-9400 to schedule an appointment. Health officials said walk-ins will be considered depending on capacity.

Appointments for vaccinations are also available at the Jefferson County Public Health clinic in Port Townsend.

At the upcoming clinics, health officials noted a Jefferson County Public Health nurse will administer the vaccines.

Adults may also receive their COVID-19 vaccination, whether it be their first or second dose, or first or second booster dose. Moderna will be available to anyone aged 6 months or older.

At the July clinic, a limited supply of Pfizer will available to those aged 5 years and older.

Vaccinations are given at no cost to families. If a family has medical insurance, public health will bill the insurance company for the vaccination.

Other regional vaccination options are also available.

Established patients of Jefferson Healthcare may choose to schedule a vaccination appointment by calling their primary doctor’s office.

Vaccinations for children ages 3 and older are available at some Walmart and Rite-Aid pharmacies; visit their websites to schedule an appointment.
