The Jefferson County community was invited to explore solutions and propose ideas for its LGBTQ youth on September 25 and 26.
“Queer Survival Quest” was presented by Mandala Center for Change, under the facilitation of its founder, Marc Weinblatt.
Eight youth ages 14 to 22, all of whom identify along the LGBTQ spectrum, participated.
Weinblatt said as a straight, cis male from the dominant culture, he is not the expert on the experiences these youth go through. “I don’t know and don’t see and can’t even possibly know without living the real experience,” he said.
“They are the experts on their own lives and their own issues.”
