The new temporary bridge on Highway 104 at Shine Creek was opened to traffic at 1 a.m. Saturday, July 15.
The new bridge was installed as part of the Shine Creek culvert removal and replacement project between Highway 19 and South Point Road.
Traffic on Highway 104 is being shifted to the temporary two-lane bridge that will guide travelers around the culvert work site.
A temporary speed reduction from 60 mph to 45 mph is also in effect.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the bypass will allow crews to remove portions of the highway to replace the culvert at Shine Creek with an 18-foot-long, three-sided structure that allows fish to swim under the roadway.
Traffic will continue to follow the bypass that includes the new bridge until early October.
