Tele-Rheumatology and Tele-Neurology coming

Posted

Jefferson Healthcare is launching two new specialty services aimed at enhancing access to high-quality specialty healthcare for residents of East Jefferson County: tele-rheumatology and tele-neurology.

“We're constantly striving to elevate our standard of care while expanding the range of services available to the communities we serve,” said CEO Mike Glenn.

Tele-rheumatology and tele-neurology services mean patients can connect with specialists through video consultations, eliminating the need to travel off the Olympic Peninsula for rheumatology or neurology consultations.

“We understand the challenges many residents face when it comes to accessing specialized medical services,” said Glenn. “Traveling long distances for a ten-minute consultation is not only inconvenient but can delay crucial treatment—or make it impossible to access it at all.”

Patients interested in tele-neurology or tele-rheumatology services should speak with their primary care provider to obtain a referral. Appointments will be conducted onsite at Jefferson Healthcare using a secure video conferencing system. During appointments, patients will be accompanied by a medical assistant who ensures a seamless patient experience.
