The East Jefferson girls wrestling team began its first-ever season as an official team. Although the girls have wrestled alongside the boys for years, the girls reached the minimum 10 person threshold to officially compete as an individual team.
Their first meet was in Port Angeles earlier in the month, and the girls most recently competed in Bremerton last Wednesday.
Upcoming meets are:
Klahowya, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15 (away);
Sequim, (Olympic League girls duel) 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 (away);
Cascade Christian, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 (home); and
Vashon Island, 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 (away).
