The Quilcene Rangers picked up their second win of the season in girls varsity basketball with a win at home Friday against Rainier Christian School.
Quilcene rebounded from their earlier loss to Oakville by corralling the Mustangs 31-23.
Quilcene Coach Mark Thompson predicted the Ranger win, but not the score.
Following the loss last week to Oakville, Thompson called for a loud home crowd to come out and cheer for Quilcene in their first league game of the season.
“They are going to be close games and Quilcene is going to win,” Thompson said following Wednesday’s contest against the Acorns.
The victory stopped a four-game skid for the Rangers, who fell to Wishkaw Valley 40-37 early last week.
The Rangers entered the weekend with a 1-0 conference record (2-4 overall).
