For the upcoming school year, the Port Townsend School District is piloting an online program for first grade through 12th-grade students.
The Port Townsend Online Program will be the only fully remote learning option offered in the district next year. The program will be developed by a certified teacher in a collaborative effort with students and families. It will include courses offered through Edgenuity Courseware.
The students who participate in the program will be required to meet weekly either virtually or in-person with their teacher. Students of the program will participate in state assessments and must meet all state requirements.
For those who may not be ready to return to in-person instruction, the program is being put in place as a response to the needs of families and students discovered during the pandemic.
A decision will be made next school year to determine if the program will continue.
Interested families will need to complete an application to enroll in the program. Applications are available to students entering first grade through 12th grade this upcoming school year.
