The Port Townsend Summer Band finishes its 32nd summer concert season with a lively selection of Broadway tunes at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25 at Pope Marine Plaza in downtown Port Townsend. The public is invited to this free, family-friendly event. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a variety of arrangements conducted by Marge Rosen. Selections include medleys from the Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, the Sound of Music, and other Broadway classics.
The 40-piece all-volunteer band features woodwinds, brass, and percussion. Members range in age from teens on up with a range of playing experience, from professionals to amateurs and students. The band takes pride in being a very supportive group that welcomes players who can read music at a high school level and above.
