Northwind Art’s photography exhibition makes call for submissions

Northwind Art is inviting photography content for an upcoming juried exhibition entitled, “WET,” that examines the myriad facets, aspects, and impacts of water, from the presence of water as ocean and rain to its absence as desert and tundra.

“’WET’ will explore the power of water in its various forms and how that power is manifested in diverse environments and cultures,” said Michael Vince Snyder DuBose, Northwind Art exhibitions director. “From geysers to rivers to glaciers, steam to liquid to ice, water is a powerful force affecting the planet. It demolishes mountains, and it nurtures our gardens. It is the basis of all life. We invite content that examines a broad spectrum of subject matter — infrastructure like aqueducts, canals, and reservoirs; the extremes of weather and climate; activities from sailing to drinking to bathing — all the myriad facets of life that arise as a consequence of the presence of water on the earth.”

The artist entry period closes Friday, Feb. 10. Jury dates begin Feb. 11 and end Feb. 15. Artists will be notified on Feb. 16.

This is a regional exhibition. All participants from the Pacific Northwest region are welcome.

Awards for the exhibition include a $500 Juror’s Choice Award, three $300 Merit Awards, and one $100 post-exhibit People’s Choice Award.

The exhibition dates for those chosen will be March 16 through April 30.

Entries will be submitted through CaFE, an online art entry website with a $30 entry fee, which goes towards exhibition operating costs.
