John Gaskill Arscott, aged 84, of Port Ludlow, Washington, concluded a well-lived journey on May 17, 2024. Born on October 16, 1939 in Princeton, New Jersey, he was the son of the late John and Lois (Coffin) Arscott. John’s life was a testament to his enduring love for his family, his unwavering service to his country, and his steadfast dedication to his community.

After honorable serving four years in the United States Navy, John pursued a distinguished career in finance. A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Business School, he brought his keen intellect and leadership to Brown Brothers Harriman, rising from a market analyst to a valued member of the board.

John’s academic pursuits began at Princeton Elementary and culminated at Princeton High School, setting the foundation for his lifelong commitment to education and personal growth. A man of faith, John served with devotion as a cantor at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Port Townsend, WA.

He will be fondly remembered for his love of non-fiction, his patronage of the musical arts, and his melodious voice, which graced the Yale Alumni Glee Club for thirty years. Alongside his beloved wife, Ann, John’s spirit of adventure took him across the globe, cherishing the natural beauty and diverse cultures the world had to offer.

John leaves behind his devoted wife, Ann; his daughter, Jennifer (Arscott) Williams; his son, John; his brother, David; sister-in-law, Martha; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. His presence as a wise and loving patriarch will be profoundly missed.
