The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 207 calls for service between Friday, Dec. 2 and Friday, Dec. 9. Below are selected reports.
At 4:21 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 in Port Hadlock, a caller said someone was yelling and screaming at a nearby address, and smoke was seen coming from the back yard. The caller said no one should be on the property.
The caller also reported hearing a dog barking and thought a woman was yelling at the dog.
A deputy responded and found a woman who was doing clean-up work on the property after a house had been destroyed by fire.
The woman had a small fire and was burning brush. She said she wasn’t yelling and hadn’t heard anyone else yelling.
At 9:45 a.m.Tuesday, Dec. 6 in Port Hadlock, a storage unit was broken into several days earlier.
A lock had been cut to gain entry.
Multiple items were stolen and the loss was estimated at $6,500.
At 2:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 in Quilcene, a caller reported a traffic hazard on Thorndyke Road.
The caller said a logging operation had left debris in the roadway, including rocks that were 3 to 4 inches in size.
The roadway was cleared of debris.
