Genre-defying show comes to Port Ludlow

Other than the letter “B” there’s not much the music of Bach, The Beach Boys, and Justin Bieber have in common.

Except that they’ll all be played by the genre-defying trio TAKE3 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Bay Club in Port Ludlow.

Nothing is off the table for this band founded by Lindsey Deutsch, who toured the world with another genre-defying performer – Yanni – as his featured violin soloist. While Yanni is known most for his new-age fusion-jazz, classical, soft rock, and world music, TAKE3 is entirely different, bouncing back and forth from rock, pop, jazz, classical, country, and everything in between.

TAKE3 features Deutsch, cellist Mikala Schmitz, and pianist Alexa Constantine, although they often perform with dancers, a full orchestra or a small backup band, as well as the trio only.

Their interactive lighting shows and comedic stories of their journey, from playing scales in conservatory practice rooms to pop music in packed stadiums, come together in experiences that have entertained concert-goers all over the nation.

The group is in the midst of a seven-month tour that will take them to every corner of the country, from the Sheen Center for Thought & Culture in New York to the Performing Arts Center of Wisconsin Rapids, and the Bay Club, as part of the Port Ludlow Performing Arts 2022-23 season.

In addition to extensive touring, the group has earned accolades for its outreach programs for children of all ages, delivering a message of hope, inspiration, and the importance of following dreams with vigorous tenacity.

Known for their infectious and down-to-earth onstage personalities, this threesome has left their mark on captivated crowds around the country.

The trio keeps a busy tour schedule, performing more than 60 events around the globe each season, including recent appearances at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Grill, the OK Mozart Festival, and a collaboration with the Victoria Symphony.

Deutsch can also be heard throughout Netflix’s popular show, “The Witcher,” and the Hulu series “All About Pam.” Her performances on these Sony soundtracks reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts and received millions of streams worldwide.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at portludlowperformingarts.com.
