Local master of movement Bill Evans is inviting the public to learn the art of dance and also witness the repertory talents of the Repertory Dance Theatre.
The group is set to perform in Port Angeles, but prior to that, Port Townsend residents will have the chance to learn from Evans and the Repertory Dance Theatre.
Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Repertory Dance Theatre is one of the preeminent modern dance repertory companies in the world.
Starting at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, Evans and the Repertory Dance Theatre will offer an open rehearsal at the Chapel at Fort Worden, giving viewers the chance to see Evans and the group rehearse some of their works. The open rehearsal will be available to the first 60 people who arrive, and is free of charge.
Following that, Evans will lead a free class called “Movement For People Who Don’t Call Themselves Dancers” at the Chapel at Fort Worden.
The beginner class is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 and the doors will open at 6:45 p.m.
The Repertory Dance Theatre will perform at the Port Angeles Performing Arts Center from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 24.
