Anne Forest, born Barbara Ann De la Forest Foster, passed peacefully on September 6, 2023 at the age of 87. Born in Minnesota, she found PT in 1983 while searching for a place to live with her daughter, Camellia. She worked at the Food Coop, taught macrobiotic cooking lessons and ran for state legislature, among other things. She loved to garden and was a staunch feminist. She was very involved in the alternative community of PT before moving back to Minnesota in 1994. She struggled in her last few years with chronic pain and chose to die with dignity in Switzerland. She is survived by her daughter Camellia El-Antably, sisters Katherine Stillman, Suzanne Rothschild and Gail Monchik.
A small memorial will be held on September 21, 2024, in Port Townsend on Mountain Spirit Land, 3110 3rd St. at 4 PM. Attendees are invited to bring memories of Anne and finger food to share. For more information email Camellia at leiljames@gmail.com
