Power has gone out for approximately 1,000 customers of the Jefferson County Public Utility District, from Chimacum to the end of the Coyle Peninsula along Dabob Bay, as strong winds continue to batter the region Thursday.
The power outage was reported just before 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27, and customers along Center Road in Chimacum and south are without electricity.
A crew has been dispatched to restore power, according to Jefferson County PUD.
Another outage was reported just before 1 p.m. Thursday on Thorndyke Road, leaving 59 PUD customers without power.
Strong winds are forecast for throughout Thursday.
Washington State Ferries suspended sailings on the Port Townsend-Coupeville route Thursday, and additional sailings that had been scheduled for early Thursday afternoon were also canceled.
Washington State Ferries reported that it was likely that the 3:30 p.m. sailing from Port Townsend and the 4:15 p.m. Coupeville sailing will be cancelled.
