I am wondering if you love Port Townsend as much as I do — it is a great place to live! If so, have you been wondering if you might find a way to get involved? Maybe meet some interesting people, find out what things are happening, and have a great time? A wonderful destination is Rotary! There are three in this area. The Port Townsend Sunrise Rotary Club meets at Grace Lutheran Church, 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Port Townsend Rotary Club meets at Fort Worden Commons at noon Tuesdays, and East Jefferson County Rotary meets noon Thursdays at the Tri-Area Community Center in Chimacum. Each club has its own website if you want to find out more. Here in Port Townsend the Rotary clubs do many things to support our local community, like honoring “Student of Month,” hosting foreign exchange students, providing dictionaries for elementary students, and much more. We do fun fundraisers like “Driving in the Dark” and “Running of the Balls.” Rotary is also an international club and is in every country in the world devoted to improving the human condition wherever it is needed. Time spent with Rotary is time spent knowing that you are helping to make a difference. It is our hope and goal to represent the Rotary Spirit, “Service Above Self.” I/we invite you to come and get acquainted with Rotary. You are always welcome!
