The Jefferson County Public Utility District’s Four Corners building was closed Monday afternoon after staff noted an adhesive smell in the facility following recent roofing work there.
The smell led General Manager Kevin Streett to determine the best course of action was to close the building until ventilation improved.
The closure also caused the PUD’s board of commissioners to switch to a hybrid format for its regularly scheduled meeting and budget hearing Monday.
The facility was expected to reopen Tuesday with regular business hours, according to PUD officials.
The utility authority said it would provide updates via its social media pages if the closure was extended.
