Two new COVID-19 infections found in Jefferson County

Jefferson County public health officials reported two new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.

The additional infections pushed the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Jefferson County to 467 on July 13.

A Port Townsend man and a mid-county man both tested positive for COVID-19.

One resident is in his 40s, and the other is in his 70s.

Eight residents were still in isolation Tuesday due to potential COVID-19 contact.

Test results are pending for another 38 residents.

There have been 26,105 tests for COVID-19 in Jefferson County since the start of the pandemic, and 25,600 have come back negative.

In Jefferson County, 439 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 35 people have been hospitalized for the disease. Four deaths of Jefferson County residents have been linked to COVID-19.

People are considered "recovered" at 28 days from the onset of symptoms if they are alive and not hospitalized, according to the state Department of Health.
