Two new cases of COVID-19 reported Friday in Jefferson County

Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported by public health officials Friday afternoon in Jefferson County.

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, a total of 176 people have tested positive for the disease through Dec. 4, according to Jefferson County Public Health.

The new cases reported Friday involve two Port Townsend women; one in her 60s, and the other in her 80s.

One death to the coronavirus has been linked to a Jefferson County resident. 

County health officials reported Friday that 99 residents in the county have recovered from COVID-19 and are no longer hospitalized.

Health officials said 16 people with active COVID-19 cases were still in isolation.

According to Jefferson County Public Health, a total of 13,662 tests have been administered for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 13,440 have come back negative.

Test results are still pending for 46 people.

Through Tuesday, 91 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 66 in mid-county residents; and 19 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).

Women still outnumber men in the number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Jefferson County; 92 females have tested positive through Dec. 4, and 84 males have tested positive.
