Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported by public health officials Tuesday in Jefferson County.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, a total of 185 local residents have tested positive for the disease through Dec. 8, according to Jefferson County Public Health.
The new cases reported Tuesday involve a mid-county woman in her 50s, and a mid-county man in his 50s.
County health officials reported Dec. 8 that 108 residents in the county have recovered from COVID-19 and are no longer hospitalized.
One death to the coronavirus has been linked to a Jefferson County resident.
Health officials said 19 people with active COVID-19 cases were still in isolation.
According to Jefferson County Public Health, a total of 13,947 tests have been administered for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 13,694 have come back negative.
Test results are still pending for 68 people.
Through Tuesday, 96 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 69 in mid-county residents; and 20 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).
Women still outnumber men in the number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Jefferson County; 95 females have tested positive through Dec. 8, and 90 males have tested positive.
