A 50-year-old Port Townsend woman is facing second-degree negligent driving charges after she allegedly crossed the center line on Highway 20 Friday and hit two cars that were headed into town.

Two people were hurt in the wreck.

The happened just before 10:30 a.m. March 31.

The Port Townsend woman was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am on Highway 20 near Old Fort Townsend Road when she crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and hit a 2017 Honda CR-V driven by an 85-year-old Port Townsend man.

The Pontiac then struck a 2012 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 58-year-old Port Townsend woman.

Both the Pontiac and the Honda went off the highway and came to rest in the ditch.

A passenger in the Honda, identified as an 83-year-old Port Townsend woman, was hurt in the collision and was taken to Jefferson Healthcare Medical Center.

The driver of the Pontiac was also injured and was taken to Jefferson  Healthcare. She is facing charges of second-degree negligent driving, no insurance, and third-degree driving with a suspended license, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision shut down the highway in both directions for more than an hour Friday morning.

The Pontiac and the Honda were both totaled in the crash.
