Two clinics offer COVID shots for kids in Quilcene

Posted

Jefferson County Public Health will host two clinics in Quilcene in the coming months to provide COVID-19 vaccinations for families with children 6 months and older.

The clinics are planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 22.

Residents can call 360-385-9400 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will be considered depending on capacity, according to health officials.

The Quilcene clinic address is 294843 US 101, in the U.S. Post Office building on the side that faces Rodgers Street.

A Jefferson County Public Health nurse will administer the vaccines.

COVID-19 vaccinations are given at no cost to families. If a family has medical insurance, Jefferson County Public Health will bill the insurance company for the vaccination, officials said.

Adults may also receive their COVID-19 vaccination, whether it be their first or second dose, or first or second booster dose. Moderna will be available to anyone aged 6 months or older.

Novavax will be available to anyone 18 and older. Health officials noted that Novavax is for adults who have not already completed a primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Appointments for vaccinations (all childhood immunizations) are also available at the Jefferson County Public Health clinic in Port Townsend.

Just to let people know, I was at the emergency room today and the doctor who was there said Covid cases are back, wear your masks, avoid crowds, this is not over.
