Ferry service on the Port Townsend-Coupeville route was shut down early Friday morning after the crew of the M/V Salish discovered an issue with the steering control of the vessel.
Washington State ferries said the ferry route is expected to remain out of service through Friday morning, Oct. 21.
WSF announced the shutdown of the ferry run just after 4 a.m. Friday.
WSF said loading rules have been relaxed for the day and no-shows will not be charged.
