Steve Tharinger leads by almost 5 points in the race for the Legislative District 24, Position 2 seat to the Washington State House of Representatives, according to preliminary results on Election Night.
Tharinger, the Democratic Party incumbent lawmaker, had 18,665 votes cast in his favor, or 52.38 percent of all ballots counted so far.
Tharinger led over his Republican challenger Brian Pruiett, who has received 16,947 votes, or 47.55 percent.
A total of 35,637 votes were counted in the first tally just after 8 p.m. Nov. 8, according to the Washington State Secretary of State's Election Division.
