Big beer hats, big beer bellies, and lots and lots of big beer flavor abounded over the weekend at this year’s Strange Brewfest hosted at the American Legion Hall Post 26 in Port Townsend.

Double Bluff Brewery won “Best Strange Brew” for their “French Onion Soup” Brown Ale which was packed with allium power from the outrageous amount of caramelized onions it was made with.

Other insanities on offer were a “Spaghetti and Meatball” Red Ale from Slippery Pig Brewery garnished with a hand-rolled meatball, a “Crab” Stout from Dungeness Brewing with live Dungeness crabs in the boil and fortified with the stock of those very same crab, and a “Glitter Cotton Candy” Cider for those avoiding the hops but not the freaky fun.
