Steve Leslie was dedicated to the Olympics Mountains and to the safety of all who enjoyed them. Born in Seattle and lived on the Kitsap Peninsula from age 10. A graduate of Bainbridge Island HS and the UW. He worked at Town & Country Market until 1990 when he became a General Contractor / Carpenter. He spent countless hours hiking and climbing in Washington. Steve joined Olympic Mountain Rescue in 1989, serving as chair, technical rigging operations leader and mentor. Steve was still an active member at the time of his passing. Steve was a strong, gentle person with a ready smile and laugh, always willing to assist, share his mountain knowledge all while sipping his mocha. He is dearly missed by his friends and loved ones.
His memorial service is on Saturday, 2:00 PM, October 5th, at 1550 Rocky Point Rd NW, Bremerton.
