Soul singer Grace Love, a Pacific Northwest local, draws inspiration from both her roots and her travels abroad to Italy, the UK, Berlin (just to name a few) when it comes to her music.
“Traveling and experiencing the world changes how music translates when you are able to express yourself and be yourself,” Love told The Leader.
“I want to connect to people’s emotions,” she continued. “And I have learned from my travels that it’s a great trait. It’s a powerful opportunity to encourage people to lean into the spark of what’s keeping them motivated.”
Love was thrilled when she was invited to perform at THING. “It was a great time,” she said. “Lots of amazing people making things happen.”
As someone who has played both small venues and massive crowds, Love notes how audiences who appreciate musicality over “the big happening” inspire her the most.
“Like, I know I’m gorgeous, but it’s more than that. I’ve learned to lean into being a good musician, a good emotion bender.”
Love performed at THING on Saturday, Aug. 26.
