On Feb. 18, 2023, the adored Seamus Paco Sims, 41, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Stratford, Connecticut. Born and raised in Port Townsend, Seamus was a local legend. Whether he was bombing hills on his skateboard, reading history books, writing rhymes, or helping the marginalized, you were sure to know Seamus for his kind, authentic demeanor and his immutable sense of justice and love for humanity.
Seamus moved to Seattle and attended University of Washington, which deepened his ever-present love of Seattle sports. Upon relocation to the East Coast he married the love of his life, Elba, in 2008. His skills as a critical thinker and problem-solver aided his career as Logistics Manager at World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., and, most recently, Director of Logistics at BCH America Inc.. In recent years you could find Seamus at the dog park, spinning a hip hop record, tending to his 1906 home, gardening, and caring for those he loved the most.
Of all the many accomplishments in his life, the greatest was the impact he had on those who met him. A fiercely loyal husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Seamus’ love was unwavering. He inspired us all to be better — more loving, present, and real.
In the words of the Wu Tang Clan, “The way of the true samurai is the ability to live through death.” Seamus, The Catalyst, lives on through the many lives that he touched.
A grand Celebration of Life will take place in Port Townsend on July 9. In addition, there will be a memorial fund to benefit the Port Townsend Skate Park in Seamus’ honor.
