Robert (Bob) Bruns, a former long-time resident of Port Townsend, passed away at his home in Maricopa, Arizona on September 26, from cancer.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bob attended Carleton College, moved to Seattle, then to Port Townsend in 1973. He began a business in fence-building, then painting and paper-hanging. Eventually, his very successful, full palette painting business had several employees by the time he retired.
Bob had many friends in the tennis and pickleball communities and enjoyed swing dancing and other couple dancing with Port Townsend friends. He continued his enjoyment of pickleball and travel with his wife, Fay. Bob was respected and well liked by everyone who knew him. A few days before his death he said, "I've had a good life."
Bob is survived by his wife Fay Bruns, his former wife Michele Bruns and their three children, Peter Bruns (Kristine Inaba), Jenny (Vivek) Maganty, and Nathan Bruns, his sister Barb (Steve) Brandt, and his granddaughters Ananya Maganty and Tula Maganty.
