Reusable Goods Exchange & Upcycling Activities at Finnriver

Posted by finnriver

Join us in celebrating and caring for planet Earth this month with a community Reusable Goods Exchange! Bring in items in good condition that you no longer have a use for, and exchange them for things you need! Bring a thing, or just take something, or both. It's all a free exchange. Great for spring cleaning, for reducing the load on the waste stream and helpful for your budget.

How the Exchange works:
1. Bring reusable items in any of the following categories. Please bring no more than 10 items per person:
-Household
-Clothing & Shoes
-Books
-Yard & Garden
-Outdoor & Recreation
-Pet Supplies
-NO battery-operated tools if they don’t have a functioning battery and charger, and NO outdated light fixtures please.

2. Place your items on the tables labeled with the correct category.

3. Choose items other folks have brought in to take home with you!

4. No need to reclaim at the end of the event. Unclaimed items will be donated to local organizations.

Upcycling Activties:
1. Learn how to weave a plastic-strap bag from scraps. We provide the materials.

2. Bring an old t-shirt and learn to make a T-shirt Tote.

Laura Tucker with Jefferson County Public Works will be tabling to promote the new Sustainability Stars program!

The Reusable Goods Exchange and Upcycling Activities will take place in the Finnriver Hay Barn on Saturday 4/20 and Sunday 4/21, 12pm-5:00 pm on each day.
