Tree huggers and nature lovers are invited to an afternoon of celebration and healing.
A rally for planetary regeneration, the “great work of our time,” will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10 at Brigid’s Loft in Port Townsend above the Bazaar Girls Yarn Shop.
Starting at 1 p.m. will be songs and introductions, followed by a presentation on “Planetary Regeneration - State of the Art Strategies and the Global Earth Repair Movement,” by Michael Pilarski discussing the best methods to re-green the planet, rehydrate drylands, and stabilize the climate.
After that, there will be a facilitated discussion period about what can be done locally for ecosystem restoration and carbon sequestration on the Olympic Peninsula.
As a result of organizing the recent, online Global Earth Repair Summit and the 2019 Global Earth Repair Conference, Pilarski has built connections and friendships with some of the world’s leading restorationists such as John D. Liu, Walter Jehne, Michal Kravcik, Dr. Thomas Goreau, and many more.
In the past, Pilarski has also hosted a number of events including the 2019 Global Earth Repair Conference held at Fort Worden, the North Olympic Peninsula Farmers Convergence & Mixer at Finnriver Cidery, the Medicinal Herb Growing and Marketing Conference at Fort Worden in 2016, the Northwest Permaculture Convergence at Fort Flagler, and the Port Townsend Tree Festival, which was founded by Pilarski in 1990.
There is a suggested donation of $10 to $25 to be used as a fundraiser for the Global Earth Repair Foundation.
