Lauren Poyer, an associate teaching professor in the Department of Scandinavian Studies at the University of Washington, is a medievalist who specializes in Old Norse-Icelandic studies. Her research focuses on Christian Folk religion as represented in the "Sagas of Icelanders". Lauren's presentation will be about the Kraken and other sea monsters but will be available for questions about anything related to Norse mythology.
