Port Townsend High School’s English, photography, and
art students are presenting collaborative art exhibit In-Verse Images Uptown at The Nest from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18.
The display is lined up to coincide with the beginning of Rhody Fest. It will include original surrealist photography, as well as artwork replicating the photos, original art pieces, and student writings inspired by the drawings, paintings, and photography. A poetry reading is planned for 6 to 7 p.m.
David Egeler, the high school’s media studies teacher, said he is excited to facilitate his students’ involvement in this exhibition for the second year in a row.
“There are some truly wonderful images created by my students that will definitely stun our local community with their creativity and Photoshop skills,” Egeler said.
More than 50 of the participating students are from his classes alone. Many of the photography pieces have been entered in a competition at Peninsula College and the statewide student photography contest sponsored by Kenmore Camera.
This event is free and open to the public.
