Protests over timber harvesting done in 2015 by Port Ludlow Associates (PLA) within the Port Ludlow master planned resort continued Saturday, Oct. 22 with several dozen showing up outside the Inn at Port Ludlow to chant, "Hey, hey, PLA. Our village wants its trees to stay," according to Steve Frenzl. PLA investors from Hong Kong were said to be visiting the inn. People in the community contend they are trying to put pressure on both PLA and inn owner Randy Verrue, as well as Jefferson County's elected commissioners, to remediate clear-cutting done in the resort in 2015. Commissioners said the negotiations are continuing slowly.
