Turnout for the 2022 Primary Election was at 29.3 percent in Jefferson County heading into the final weekend before Election Day, according to the Washington Secretary of State Elections Division.

A total of 8,039 voters in Jefferson County have returned their ballots for the Aug. 2 election.

Through Friday, local election officials have accepted 7,923 ballots for counting on Election Night; 116 ballots have been challenged.

The Primary Election is Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Jefferson County has 27,409 active voters.

The primary ballot includes candidates for U.S. Senator; U.S. Representative, 6th District; Washington Secretary of State; State Representative, 24th Legislative District, Position 1 and Position 2; and multiple county offices, including assessor, auditor, clerk, county commissioner for District 3, prosecutor/coroner, sheriff, and treasurer. Ballots in Precincts 1108, 1110, and 2302 also include candidates for precinct officers.

Ballots must be postmarked no later than Election Day or placed in an official ballot drop box by 8 p.m. Election Night to be counted.

• County Courthouse, back parking lot, front of the courthouse, and auditor’s office (1st floor), 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend;

• Brinnon Community Center, 306144 US Highway 101, Brinnon;

• Quilcene Community Center, 294952 US Highway 101, Quilcene;

• Nordland Fire Department, 6633 Flagler Road, Nordland;

• Peninsula Gateway Visitor Center, 93 Beaver Valley Road, Port Ludlow; and

• Hoh Indian Nation, 2261 Lower Hoh Road. Forks.

• Quinault Indian Nation, in front of the Queets Tribal Office.
