The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 117 calls between Friday, Dec. 2, and Thursday, Dec. 8. Below are selected reports.

At 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, a woman in the 2600 block of East Sims Way was trespassed from a business after causing a scene in the bathroom.

The woman had been throwing items around the bathroom and acting aggressively. She then moved outside, cursing and yelling all the while. Officers spoke with the store employees, who asked that she be trespassed. Officers contacted the woman and issued a warning.

At 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, in the 400 block of West Sims Way, an employee reported a person who walked out of the store with food that hadn’t been paid for. The store retrieved camera footage of the theft.

The suspect was living in a motor home in the store’s parking lot and was seen stealing food earlier in the day. A trespass admonishment was issued.

At 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, a caller in the 1800 block of Jefferson Street reported being harassed by a former spouse.

The caller was filing for divorce, and the former partner followed the person and began taunting the person. Officers contacted the caller, and the situation had already been resolved. The caller was advised to get support for a court order to prevent future harassment.

At 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, in the 2200 block of East Sims Way, a resident reported an altercation with an employee at a nearby business. The worker had threatened the resident and splashed them with water. The two are roommates and the worker has a history of aggression. The worker was arrested for harassment, and a police report was completed along with a criminal citation for harassment.

At 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, a theft was reported in the 1500 block of West Sims Way after someone took a single wheel from a parked car. The theft likely occurred the night before, and it was a Mag wheel, valued at $200. A floor jack was used to take the wheel. There was no video surveillance in the area and a police report was taken.

At 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the 1300 block of First Street, a burglary was reported. A thief had stolen an antique brass lamp from a vacant home. There was no suspect.

At 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, a package theft was reported in the 1200 block of Hancock Street. A FedEx delivery driver left a package at the reporting party’s office, but the box was gone by the time the person got there. According to FedEx, the package was delivered  at 1:35 p.m. the day before, and by the time the person arrived to pick it up at 2:10 p.m., it was gone. The package contained a 90-watt laptop battery, worth $251.

At 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, a theft was reported in the 400 block of West Sims Way after a man took food from a grocery store and left on a bike toward the nearby bus station. He was wearing a camouflage hat and camo-colored pants. The incident was captured on video and a police report was taken. The total value of the stolen food was $18.

At 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the 2400 block of West Sims Way, an assault was reported. A man and woman were in a parking lot in the area, and police were told the woman pepper-sprayed the man. The man told the woman to leave him alone, and the woman was described as being 5-foot-9 with a hat and backpack.

Officers contacted the woman, who said the man was following her and acting aggressively. The woman said she pulled out pepper spray, but didn’t use it on the man. There were no signs or indications that the woman had used the pepper spray, and the officers noted they didn’t smell pepper spray. The man was not located.
