At 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, a theft was reported in the 1600 block of West Sims Way, with a business owner telling law enforcement that a decorative metal box had been stolen from the business.

The owner identified the suspected thief with surveillance footage from the incident and requested for the box to be returned and the suspect trespassed from the property.

Officers attempted to contact the store owner at home, but nobody was there. Police will continue to follow up with the business owner or proceed with a criminal case.

At 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in the 2600 block of Washington Street, a caller reported a gas can being stolen from a boat sometime in the last month.

He later fell off the porch and onto the caller’s front yard.

Officers spoke to the man, who appeared to be intoxicated, and gave him a ride home.

At 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, in the 100 block of Madison Street, a welfare check was requested after a Seattle resident told police a grandmother was not responding to calls.

The caller hadn’t spoken with the person’s 94-year-old grandmother in two days and was worried. Officers contacted the grandmother, who was OK, and she said she’d call her grandkid back.

At 2:10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, a caller in the 600 block of Water Street reported four or five juveniles taking rocks from a nearby retaining wall and throwing them into the bay. After the caller had asked the teens to stop, they started swearing at him. Officers searched the area for the teens, but the youths had already left.

At 1:40 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in the 400 block of West Sims Way, a caller reported a potential domestic dispute in a nearby store.

A man and woman appeared to be arguing over money, and the woman kept telling the man to leave her alone. The woman was sitting inside alone when officers arrived. She told officers that they were just arguing about a phone, and that she was fine.
