The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 166 calls between Friday, Feb. 24, and Thursday, March 2. Below are selected reports.

At 12 a.m. Wednesday, March 1,
in the 2700 block of Gise Street, a burglary-in-progress was reported. A man was seen walking around a residence, knocking on the door, and going into the backyard after nobody answered the door.

Officers contacted the homeowner, who said the man was a visiting friend and was allowed in. No crime had occurred.

At 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 1,
a theft was reported in the 1000 block of Lawrence Street after two bicycles were stolen from a home. The two bikes — an orange, Specialized bike with camouflage tires and a Miami pink bike — were left outside the home unsecured on the front porch. The bikes were worth $225 total, and it’s unknown if any security cameras are in the area.

At 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 1,

in the 400 block of West Sims Way, disorderly conduct was reported to police. A man was screaming in a coffee store and appeared to be agitated and upset.

Officers contacted the man, who had been confronted by others for the way he was disciplining his dog. The canine didn’t show any signs of injury and the man agreed to leave the business.

At 11:10 a.m. Thursday, March 2,

in the 400 block of West Sims Way, three shoplifters were seen leaving a store and getting into a Chevrolet pickup truck. There was one woman and two men, all in their 30s, who fled the store. Officers contacted the three suspects and trespassed them from the property for shoplifting.

At 10 p.m. Thursday, March 2,
an officer in the 400 block of West Sims Way observed a man running down the street screaming, “It’s gonna blow.”

The officer investigated, and the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was having a mental health episode. Others in the area were trying to calm him down, and another man said there was a fire in his RV.

The RV man said he didn’t need the fire department, and did not want to answer what was being cooked in the vehicle.

The officer investigated the RV, but didn’t see any signs of a fire inside.
