At 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, a dog bite was reported at the Benedict and Washington streets intersection. A man told police that a pit bull bit him while he was riding his skateboard the day before. He sustained a bite to his right upper thigh and was currently in the emergency room.

The man said he didn’t know the address where the bite occurred, but it was in the downtown area. Recalling the incident, he said he was skating past the canine’s owner, who was playing the guitar and sitting on a bench, when the dog jumped out and bit him. The pit bull was gray in color with a white underbelly. The man said the canine’s owner had long, dirty, and brown hair and had dark clothes on. Officers located the pit bull’s owner later in the evening and spoke with him.

At 4:25 p.m. Wednesday,
May 17,
in the 1000 block of Grant Street, suspicious activity was reported regarding a man walking around people’s yards. The man was described as wearing tan shorts with no shirt on and a blue mohawk. Officers located the man, who was lugging a lawn mover attached to his bicycle. He said he was walking around looking for work.
