Port Townsend High School was put on lockdown just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday after 911 dispatchers received a call about a person with a gun who was headed to the school.
The threat prompted a massive police response to the school.
Port Townsend police were checking the school and the surrounding neighborhood, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office sent every deputy on duty to the scene.
The call came in at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, May 11.
"JeffCom got a call of a guy saying he was going to go to the school and shoot everyone he sees," said Sheriff Joe Nole.
Nole said officers were on foot patrolling the area and looking for anything suspicious.
Units from the Washington State Patrol were also en route to the school.
Nole said non-emergency call centers in Eastern Washington received a similar threat Wednesday that an active shooter would be going to a local high school.
