Peninsula College has narrowed its list of candidates for the presidency of Peninsula College to its final four.
The presidential finalists are Suzanne Ames, Melissa Curtis, Kristen Jones, and Kerry Levett.
Ames is Vice President of Instruction at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Kirkland. She previously served as Associate Vice President of Instruction at Lake Washington Institute of Technology. She holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership for Change from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California; and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from City University in Seattle.
Curtis is Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management for the Austin Community College District in Texas. She previously served as Dean of Student Affairs for Austin Community College, Eastview Campus, in Austin. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
Jones most recently served as Provost, Acting President and Acting Vice President of Human Resources at Bellevue College in Bellevue. She previously served as Vice President of Instruction at North Seattle College in Seattle. Jones was awarded a Doctor of Education in Community College Leadership and a Master of Science in Counseling from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.
Levett is Vice President for Student Learning and Success at Cascadia College in Bothell. She previously served as Executive Dean of Student Affairs at Lane Community College in Eugene. She earned a Doctor of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona; and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Three public forums with the candidates are planned for the week of
April 11. The forums will be virtual, and in-person attendance is also planned at Room J-47 at the college.
Forum organizers said there will be a brief introduction of each candidate, followed by a question-and-answer session.
All who participate in the candidate forums will be asked to provide feedback to the Peninsula College Board of Trustees via an online survey at the conclusion of each forum, and surveys will close at 9 a.m. the day following each candidate’s visit.
