Nancy Joy Obert passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home in Port Townsend in October 2021. She was 79.

Born Nancy Joy Holloway in Seattle, Washington in March 1942. She was a lifetime friend to her older sister, LeeAnn, who survives her. She married Kenneth Obert just out of high school. They raised five children together, Michael, Laura, Sheri, Daniel, and Peter, and went on to be married for 61 years. Nancy is survived by her husband and four younger children and their children — 11 grandkids in all.

At one time, she owned her own cleaning business and later shared her compassion as a caregiver. She enjoyed singing and tap dancing in performances with The O’Meara Dance Studio including 10 years in the Follies. She loved wearing hats!

She truly loved the bible’s promise that soon God’s Kingdom will rule over the Earth and bring an end to all suffering, bringing it back to being a Paradise, where persons like her, will be resurrected back to enjoy youthful beauty. (John 5:28, 29)

A Virtual Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20. If anyone would like to attend, please contact her daughter Laura at 360-531-1510 to receive instructions on how to view this memorial. There will be a musical gift in her honor afterward. All are welcome to attend.
