Robert Knapp will give the online presentation “Our Changing Landscapes” at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 11 as part of the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library’s “Learning Our Landscape” series.
Geologic processes and life itself can change the makeup of the atmosphere and landscapes. Changes in the atmosphere, whether species-driven or not, can change the climate of the planet.
Knapp is the environmental planning program manager for the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe. He will discuss why the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe has recently launched a climate and energy initiative, why the Tribe has a shellfish nursery in Kona, Hawaii, and loosely tie together observations, musings, and questions about the changing climate and landscape including recent restoration work completed on the Dungeness River.
Viewers can join the presentation through the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library website at library.jamestowntribe.org/home/ProgramsEvents or on Zoom at us02web.zoom.us/j/87698275538?pwd=WWlpOUdnSkoxQjduZ3hsQ21VWjdLUT09 (the meeting ID is 876 9827 5538; the passcode is 745304).
The program is presented in collaboration with the North Olympic History Center.
