The Jefferson County Public Utility District is eyeing a potential new look for the new year.
In its Tuesday, Jan. 3 regular meeting, the PUD noted a logo revision in the works for 2023.
With the 10-year anniversary of public power and the launch of a new utility service approaching in 2023, PUD staff believes that the utility’s current logos and branding could benefit from a refresh..
The utility district’s last logo change came in 2012, prior to the launch of electric services like broadband internet.
“We’re about to jump into a whole new realm of utility with our broadband build out, and 2023 is the start of that process,” said Jameson Hawn, digital communications specialist for the PUD.
The utility authority isn’t planning to entirely scrap the current teal, unicolor emblem, and staff are proposing to add a WiFi symbol to it to represent the expanded services. Additionally, PUD staff are recommending changing the teal color to blue and adding a orange or yellow second color to give the new logo a three-dimensional pop.
